With over 30 years experience in a wide range of healthcare settings Lucy and Janet decided to setup our practice so that we could provide people with Occupational Therapy assessments and advice at the time it is needed without waiting lists.
We are members of The British Association of Occupational Therapy, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and fully CRB checked.
Our Services
We provide individual assessments, work with care homes and agencies, GPs and local authorities. We are able to complete face to face or virtual assessments.
We provide several services for Care homes including Falls Prevention, Moving and Handling assessment and advice, Specialist Seating, Training and Equipment recommendations through face to face or virtual assessment.
Moving and Handling
Our clinical background means that we have the knowledge and experience to support with moving and handling, providing support with complex cases, equipment and sling selection.
Specialist Seating
In appropriate seating can cause long term complications with pressure damage and contractures, we have the knowledge and experience to recommend the correct chair for your residents and links with reputable companies to support the purchase process.
Falls Prevention
We provide face to face or virtual falls prevention assessment and advice we would like to share our experience and knowledge with you to help reduce the risks of falls and give care staff some practical advice that can be used to support the people they care for.
Training
We provide Manual Handling, Falls Prevention and Dementia Care training, with our experience and knowledge our training programmes are interactive and practical, giving care staff the real skills they need to safely assist those they are caring for.
People may experience a loss of ability to complete everyday activities, for example, getting in and out of bed, getting washed and dressed, preparing meals, for various reasons including, Physical impairment, Illness, Injury, Surgery, Cognitive Impairment, Anxiety, Depression or Environmental Barriers.
We will complete an assessment of your needs, your environment and the barriers that are stopping you engaging in the activities you would like to do. We will work with you to identify what you would like to be able to do and make recommendations to support you.

We are able to complete an independent functional assessment to identify your abilities and limitations when engaging in everyday activity. We will write a report documenting how your physical or mental health condition impacts on your ability to function.
Buying an appropriate chair can be a challenging and overwhelming experience with so many different types and companies to chose from. We have extensive knowledge of assessing and recommending appropriate seating solutions.
A seating assessment can be completed to determine which type of chair would meet your postural, pressure relieving and comfort needs based on your individual specifications.
We have links with reputable seating companies and representatives and have great knowledge of the various seating options available.
Through our many years working as Occupational Therapists in NHS, care home and local authority settings we have developed extensive knowledge and skills relating to the safe manual handling of people.
We have the necessary experience to assess and provide advice relating to all manual handling issues including:
- Safe techniques,
- Equipment – hoists, standing hoists, slide sheets, slings
- Complex cases
- Bariatric patients
We are able to offer single handed care training to enable safe manual handling when only one carer is available including:
- Use of gantry hoists
- Single handed care sheets
- Wedges
- Safe techniques
